Three Areas of Focus

Where we place our commitment.

Environment. Education. Health & Human Wellness.

01

Focus Area 01

Environment

Protecting and preserving the natural world.

From the Gulf waters of Southwest Florida to the creeks of the Potomac watershed, the Foundation supports the science, stewardship, and conservation that keep our environment healthy for generations to come.

  • Marine research and ocean conservation with Mote Marine
  • Watershed restoration with Rock Creek Conservancy
  • Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation with the Wildlife Center of SW Florida
02

Focus Area 02

Education

Expanding educational opportunity at every age.

The Foundation believes education changes trajectories. Its grantmaking spans the full journey — early childhood, K–12, and university — with particular commitment to schools in the Venice and Sarasota communities.

  • Early learning at Venice Nokomis Preschool and Children First
  • K–12 support for Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School, Epiphany Cathedral Catholic School, and Crossroads Hope Academy
  • Higher education through the Alexander Tharpe Fund at Georgia Tech
03

Focus Area 03

Health & Human Wellness

Promoting well-being and quality of life for individuals and families.

The Foundation stands with organizations that meet families where they are — with food security, housing stability, mentorship, and opportunity.

  • Food security with All Faiths Food Bank and the Capital Area Food Bank
  • Housing and family stability with Family Promise of SRQ and the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition
  • Youth mentorship with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the YMCA of Southwest Florida

Geographic Focus

Concentrated in Southwest Florida, open to the wider world.

Grantmaking generally concentrates on Southwest Florida — but when a cause aligns with the family's mission, from Washington, D.C. to global relief, the Foundation follows it.

Seven years of grantmaking.

Every grant since 2019, across all three areas of focus.
